I’m Shaun M Vale, a writer of short stories, poems and articles that cover a wide range of subjects. I often write about identity, what it means to be human and the different human experiences we all have. I enjoy nothing more than picking an idea or a concept and exploring its meaning, or potential, through prose. Sometimes, though, I just write about the amazing world that’s all around us – especially the Lake District in the UK, where I am very fortunate to live.

I’m the owner and founder of Turtle Table Games, an indie Table Top Roleplay Game designer and publisher. TTG are most well known for the dark modern fantasy TTRPG, Wandering’s Call.

I also do commission pieces and professional business writing and can provide an editorial or content writing service for any size company or organisation.

There is nothing more joyous than the experience of telling a story and then hearing it retold with excitement, or seeing it reworked and analysed from another’s perspective to keep the story evolving. Stories evolve along with us and that is something to cherish.

I love the process of writing, as well as enjoying the final piece. I doubt there is not a single piece of writing, a single story or piece of non-fiction that has remained exactly as the author originally intended.

Philosophy and debate is also something very close to my heart. We must never forget to just think for thinking’s sake. We must never forget to agree to disagree and, most importantly, we must never forget humility and the ability and willingness to change our own minds.

I aim to learn at least one new piece of information or a new way of thinking every day.

I like cats and have a beard, but that’s ok.
